No-bake chocolate oreo cheesecake

This time round I did not refer to any recipe for my chocolate oreo cheesecake and it turned out to be a success! ^^

My elder brother was skeptical about whether I bake the cake or it was purchased. Haha.

Prepare:

Oreo cookies

Coarsely crush a smaller portion of the cookies- Set aside

Grind the majority of the cookies into fine powder

Pour in melted butter

For making cakes that are so soft and delicate, we required cake pan that can easily remove the cake without haze.

I used a 16cm springfold pan

Press the oreo-butter mixture onto the bottom of the pan. Send it into the fridge while preparing the other ingredients :)

Philadelphia light cream cheese- 80% less fat = Less guilty for your weight

Tudor Gold- 55% dark chocolate bar. Break them into smaller pieces beforehand.

Melt the butter and chocolate using a double-boiler.

Add a little amount of milk/whip cream to the melted chocolate mixture.

Transfer the chocolate mixture to the cream cheese and mix them well.

Beat up the whip cream. Add sugar in 3 portions. Transfer the meringue to choco-cheese mixture.

Pour in gelatin mixture to the choco-cheese mixture.

Stir in  coarsely crushed oreo

Pour the mixture into the springfold pan with oreo base. Refrigerate it for 1-2 hours.

Prepare the top chocolate coating for chocolate oreo cheesecake

Melt butter over low heat. Take very close watch on the butter to prevent it from burning.

Add in chocolate. For my case, I add in Hersheys chocolate chips since I only have this type of chocolate left in my fridge. :P

If the consistency of the melted chocolate is too thick, compensate with milk or whip cream.

Spread the chocolate coating onto the top of the chilled cake evenly. Decorate the sides of the cake with remaining chocolate chips

Looks yummy right?
