Cookies for early celebration!

Chinese New Year is drawing near and for youngsters or unmarried ones, what we have to do is to countdown and receive angpaos from the elder or married people! It's may sounds as an disadvantage to the them, but the significance of  festive season is the same for all, it's all about enjoyment and happiness!

Never forget that it's also a season for us to go against our will to achieve a slimmer figure. Definitely, CNY is a festive which we break the rules and gorges ourselves with yummy food!

Pineapples tart is a classic morsel that cannot be disregard. The buttery and flaky crust topped with sweet sour pineapple filling, and the tang of the sweetness incite our stomach to crave for more.

I'm pleased that my family gobble up everything in 3 days!

Other than pineapple tarts, I've baked classical cookies- Chocolate chip cookies

I've accomplished more than just cookies. Cakes!

More photo taking during CNY (if I get to go back to Ipoh). Wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!!! Gong Xi gong xi!

Before school starts

I admit, this is the most unproductive holiday and I haven't accomplish anything that satisfy me.

School result was out and I wasn't quite happy with it, as I have high expectation for myself. *Sigh*.
More discipline needed and it gonna be tough for majority of people are striving to get into Viscom.

Last week, I spent the remaining of my holiday in Ipoh, and I had to say, it's the most ***king boring time in my life. After each breakfast daily, I will drag dead up to the bedroom and lay in bed...Zzzz.... no tv, no shopping, etc...

There were something which I did get out of this trip was took photos.
After massive editing, these photos should look better.

1st day of breakfast at very derelict area with rows of coffee stalls. Apology for my ignorance of the direction as I had been too dependence on others in M'sia.

Super nice kway teow! It doesn't taste sweet like Singapore's version and I have found that my Malaysian relatives hardly can accept the sweetness.

Crispy and fragrant prata with aromatic buttery taste! Singapore's prata is not up to par yet.

Nostalgic

School is reopening next Mon, and there'll not be any free Fri for me :(
Anyway, I'm going to work hard and strive for a better cGPA!

Homemade Bolognese sauce!

My family is not a big fan of spaghetti with tomato sauce, and the convenient bottle type make it worse cos it is more sour.

To stimulate their interest for a much low-fat and healthier choice of sauce, I decided to give a try on making my own tomato sauce (bolognese sauce)!

They are part of the essential in my cooking!

Fresh and juicy diced tomatoes!

No salt needed when chicken broth is added!

I replaced minced meat with ham and sausages which were found in my home freezer cos mum is not around... financially helpless!

Sauce ready. I added in additional ingredients- herbs, garlic powder, black pepper, worcestershire sauce  and sugar to slightly reduce the sourish taste!

Yums! I feel like I'm in Italy!

Lulu in digital!

As promise, I'll post up my digital version of Lulu in the "wonderland"!

This is my 1st ever attempt on digital painting. I never learnt any digital arts before and I study it from internet and book :)

I knew it isn't perfect, and I try to do better next time!

Farewell, Nugget cousin!

My cousin bro, Nugget (nickname given by my mum) has left for New Zealand, and he'll be staying there forever. He now holds a NZ passport and leaving M'sia for good to further his studies.

Here are some of the pictures that were taken before his embarkment on a new journey!

Exasperation selections

These few days, I have been turmoiled by GER core selections due tomorrow and the choosing of major which has to be submitted by 28 Jan 2011.

For GER core, all year 1 students are given choices of either "Mastering communications" or " Basic media writing". Mastering communication as you can read is just communication. Frankly speaking, I can't speak proper English and my communication level is terrible as I come from a chinese-speaking family.

Basic media writing is a module which I find beneficial to me if I want to choose filming as my major. It sets as a foundation for me to master my writing for script/screen earlier. But, the appalling truth is I need to sit for exam while "mastering communication" does not. *Complain*

Last few post I had grumbled on the decision to make for my major, up till now, I'm stuck with the choices!

I'm desired to be a film maker, but at the same time I wanted myself deft with animation.
I'm totally lost~ :(
Digital media and film industries are neither progressing nor expanding enough in Singapore! The artists are not fully acknowledged for their talents, and the prolific ones are burying their talents and wasting their time, which in turn driving the artists to other countries for survival... *sob*

I wish to have a positive outlook but the truth is thwarting me from thinking that way. When I earn enough money, I will probably leave Singapore for good.

Something to liven up the sulkiness...

Illustration- Can you spot a witch in the candy house?

I decided to introduce my character in a story plot which differ from how I portray Miss Square in a relatively boring way.

Name of Character: Lulu.
Age: 24
Facts about the character: Has a super rich father, loves pink, bimbo, ravenous, obviously obese, tend to indulge in her own world (she thought herself as a goddess- beautiful, glamorous and sexy!), seeks inspiration from Paris Hilton.

Completed in water colour. There's a bigger room for improvement in water colour painting. I shall try acrylic to accentuate the mood and colour saturation next time :)

I'll be posting for my first ever attempt of the version, wholly completed in digital painting soon!
And,  I'm gonna train myself with web design to bring out a new look for my blog!

A forage for yums!

Mum did not get to enjoy her break at home and I say out, "Why not we go shopping at orchard?"
For the 1st time, she did not hesitate, and she move her butt out from her comfort bed and with my brother, all of us spruced up for the leisure.

Our stomachs were grumbling ever since in the morning and Danny recommended a restaurant at Cathy to settle for our breakfast.

Frankly speaking, this meal is the cheapest and most affordable which I'd spent in Orchard, and it's a big deal when you know that food at Orchard are EXPENSIVE!

For health-conscious girls or guys, check this out!

Big plate of  Salad  @ $8.90 which serves along with a soup! I mean it when I say "BIG plate".

At first place, I thought I'll be eating grass like a cow but when I helped myself out at the salad bar (Yup, it is self-service!), I was flabbergasted by the wide of variety of other side dishes which I can choose from.

I was skeptical at first, trying hard not to believe the staff when he said that I could pick all the dishes on the bar itself. I'm probably too concerned that I will be charged extra just taking in his word.  Double confirmed with him again, then I was eased to pick up the side dishes.

For people who were afraid of not fulfilling their stomachs, the restaurant provides pasta, rice, garlic bread, mashed potatoes.... etc!

Salad with 1/4 chicken @ $12.90 along with a soup.

To stress again, salad is healthy and no sense of guilt for girls and boys going on diet! Try to avoid fried food such as harsh brown, onion rings and potato wedges, they're just additional options for people who wanted a balance in their meals.

Neat and  tidy decoration with ample space and satisfying ambience! Suitable for students and office staffs working nearby!

Most importantly.....

It's is super AFFORDABLE!

For just $21.80, my mum, brother and me were lugging our tummies out of the restaurant! No GST and service charge!

Once again, it is self-service and you can take as many as you wish but please do not waste the food!
It seems so much like a buffet, and it is a MUST for hungry people to go!
The dish which I ate is only at the '1st level' height,  I definitely will applaud if you can finish up a 3th or 4th level it!

It's a new restaurant and please come down to support it!

Another new bubble tea

"Share tea"

Another taiwanese new bubble store at Wisma basement competing with other bubble tea such as Koi, Gong Cha, I love Taimei....

It's the BB tea craze along after some years of hiatus! It's really making a comeback, and with so many new brands, will it lack its value once again?
