I'm Back!

Finally back home after 10days at Ipoh for CNY. The days I spent in Ipoh can be quite fruitful but at the same time-boring :P
The purpose of going back to Ipoh is to visit my grandma and the boredom can be effaced.
Some photos taken during CNY to share,

Jeffrey and Chee sis

'Loser' face

illegal gambling den-part 2
Not much photos taken during CNY, everyone is busy gambling. As for me, I'm not keen on playing poker cards

After CNY, Jacky and the Ng's sisters came to Singapore. It's pretty sad that the Ng's sis have to rush back to Ipoh in less than 48 hours on the arrival of S'pore for some issues to settle for work.
It's such a wet-blanket :(

Jacky gets to enjoy his trip in S'pore with yummy food. We made our way to Imperial treasure restaurant for dim sum this afternoon. Glad that all of us eat till ‘ ’包到拉屎!' Haha.

叉烧酥

带子粉肠

明虾角

芋角

上海小笼包

This is my favourite! Super Duper Yummy! I can eat more than 3 of these little baos :)
There will be a steamboat session with Laiyi's family tomorrow and I gotta see anne's boyfriend. *Anticipation*

Ipoh, I'm COMING!

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year Eve, and all the chinese will be having their reunion dinner with their dearest family. This day holds a very special meaning for me since it's allow all family to come together and feel the warmth of kinship, and most of all I'll be having me reunion dinner in IPOH!

Grandma will be very happy if she knows that all of us are coming back to celebrate CNY with her :)

To mark this exultancy, I've treated myself well by buying nice chio CNY clothes!

The photos aren't doing justice to these clothes, they do look nicEee, ok!

I've bought accessories to match these clothes which I'll not be posting any pictures. Just a few pieces of super ordinary accessories ;P

Since I'll be going to Ipoh to meet my mum and relatives, I'd intended to make 流沙包 (Liu Sha Bao) for them. 流沙包 is a typical Hong Kong dim sum and is a cousin of 奶黄包 ( custard bao).

No pictures of step-by-step processes for this time, cos 'm too busy preparing stuffs for Ipoh trip. Not to disappoint, there're pictures for the end products

Look at the custard filling flowing out, so 爆浆!Just like the meat balls in Stephen Chow's movies- The God Of Cookery

Alright, i'll end my post here. Bon Voyage to me!

It's driving me crazy!

Poly life is about to end, but this marks the beginning of a new start in Uni!

I've been working on my portfolio for the admission of Arts and Media department of NTU, majoring in Filming.

In order to be accepted as part of their family, I need 20 pieces of art works which have to be submitted before 28th Feb. :( It's so tedious and fatiguing!

Nevethless, I'm sharing some of my 'art pieces' taken in botanical garden and chinatown.

Still have lots of work not done yet! Ganbateh!

It's OVER!

4 months of attachment is finally over! Damn HAPPY!

To celebrate this exultation moment, I went for a rebonding of my hair.

Haha, actually not that reason. I wanted to rebond my hair long ago, but was curbed by the thoughts that  rebonding will bring intense damage to my hair.
Since CNY is coming, changing a new hairstyle is not a bad idea.

It's a bit flat, but I believe it will look more natural in a few days

Cheers~

Pineapple tart + random stuffs

Chinese New Year is just 2 weeks away, time really flies. A new year, a year older. *sad
Walking down the street of Chinatwon, you can see a miscellanous goodies- Kueh bolu, love letter, Almond cookies, peanut cookies.....
One of the goodies which I like to try for CNY is pineapple tart. I've made a early preparation to make this tart, starting from buying sweet pineapples and left them over a few days to ripe.

Add vanilla essence to eggs, lightly beat it. Set aside

Sift flour, baking powder, icing sugar and salt

Prepare Butter

Rub butter into the flour
                 .
                 .
                 .
                 .
                 .
                 .
                 .
                 .
                 .
                 .

Resemble coarse breadcrumbs

Add in egg mixture

Add in sufficient ice cold water to form a dough
                                        .
                                        .
                                        .
                                        .
                                        .
                                        .
                                        .
                                        .
Store in the fridge for an hour. Beforehand, prepare the pineapple fillings

Sweet 16 pineapples. I don't understand why it's called 'Sweet 16' :P

Strain out some of the pineapple juice. Place the remaining flesh into a pot.

Pineapple fillings: Butter, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamons, cloves and star anises

Add in remaining ingredients with pineapple flesh. Cook with low heat for 1-2 hours  (depends on
the amount of pineapple juice that you strain out)

The filling should look like this when it's done

Roll out the prepared dough and press out the shape using tart mould
( I purchased the tart mould from ntuc fairprice)

Brush on egg wash and place filling on the impression. Bake for 18-20mins

Final product! *winks

Ready to be sold! Haha.

Random stuffs

Liese foam hair dye in marshmallow brown

Stuffs inside the products

I was choosing between milk tea brown and marshmallow brown initially. Thinking that the outcome results will be similarly to the hair colour of the cover page girl. I was wrong! There is no significant difference before and after dying my hair. What's worse? Some of my grey hairs aren't covered. Damn fuming :(

Another hair product

Kao Essential Ultra Honey and Shea Butter hair mask- Rich premier
Stumbled across Xiaxue's blog which she blogged about the products. Therefore, I decided to buy it and give it a try.
Rating: * * * *
My hair is quite frizzy and dry. After trying this product, my hair is smoother. Hmm.. *Satisfaction*

My All-time favourite cakes- Bakerzin! YUMs!

Caramel Cheesecake

Blackforest Cheesecake- *DROOL*
I prefer Blackforest cheesecake. Alright, you can say I'm biased cos'  I'm a chocolate LOVER!
A total of 3 new cheescakes.  The other cheesecake is Peanut flavour. My family is not a big fan of peanuts, so no photo :)

OK. Abrupt end of post! :D
